Voluntary Remediation Program
VRP Website
Welcome to the Voluntary Remediation Program (VRP) website. The VRP sets out a process that can be used by owners of contaminated sites, or by potential developers, to quickly reach decisions about required remedial activities and put contaminated sites back into productive reuses. For more information on the history of the VRP, please click here.
Program Basics
Any individual, business, or unit of government that conducts an environmental investigation and cleanup of a contaminated property – following state requirements under the VRP – can receive a release from future environmental liability. The DEQ has developed guidance documents, policies, and outreach materials necessary to implement the VRP and assist Volunteers. This website is a clearinghouse of the most current VRP materials and provides Volunteers and the public with information available through the VRP links menu on the left-hand side of the screen or by using links within the text. The following resources are also available for your reference:
- Flowcharts diagramming the steps a Volunteer should implement as part of the VRP and/or Independent Cleanup Process (please see the VRP flowchart and the Independent Cleanup Process flowchart)
- Glossary of acronyms and terms used in VRP guidance
- Wyoming Environmental Quality Act and Industrial Development Information Siting Act
If you need assistance regarding the VRP website, please contact Bonnie Pierce.
