Divisions
Responsible for eliminating safety hazards and repairing
environmental damage from past mining activities as well as
provide assistance to communities affected by mining.
Monitors Wyoming’s air resources and through permitting and
inspection programs works to keep the air clean and healthy.
Responsible for reviewing
the socio-economic and environmental impacts of major
industrial developments before issuing a permit for
construction.

Ensures
that mining practices minimize impacts to the environment
and that affected areas are properly restored after mining
is complete.

Ensures
the proper handling and disposal of solid and hazardous
wastes and manages programs for the cleanup of previously
contaminated sites.

Responsible for monitoring and
protecting the quality of the state’s water resources (both
surface and groundwater) to keep it clean and healthy.

Provides business
services and support to DEQ’s divisions and environmental
assistance and information to Wyoming’s citizens and
businesses.
