John V. Corra was appointed as the Director of The Department of Environmental Quality by Governor Dave Freudenthal and confirmed by the State Senate in March, 2003.  John’s educational background is in engineering, with additional education in manufacturing management and organizational development.  His formal education includes undergraduate and graduate school at Montana Tech.  He is also a 2001 graduate of the Leadership Wyoming program.

Prior to joining DEQ, John spent all of his professional life in the mineral and chemical industries, serving in various executive capacities.  He also served on numerous governing boards of public and community service organizations as well as official state committees and organizations.
